Roller Conveyors
A roller conveyor is a material handling system that uses a series of parallel, rotating rollers to transport items like cartons and boxes. These systems can be powered by gravity (on an incline), a motor, or other drives, and are commonly used in warehouses, manufacturing, and logistics for efficiently moving heavy or rigid loads.
How it works
- Structure: A frame holds a series of rollers in a line.
- Movement:
- Gravity-fed: Items are placed on an inclined conveyor and move to their destination due to gravity, or are pushed manually.
- Powered: A motor drives the rollers, often through a chain or belt that connects them. The rollers then spin to push the items forward.
- Transport: Goods placed on top of the rollers slide or roll along the system to reach their destination.
Key features and benefits
- Flexibility: They can be configured in straight lines, curves, or inclines, and are ideal for various items that might not be suitable for belt conveyors.
- Durability: Roller conveyors are rugged and can handle heavy loads and harsh conditions.
- Efficiency: They save time and labor by moving goods quickly and efficiently from one place to another.
- Customization: They can be customized with different roller materials (like steel, plastic, or rubber), drive options, and accessories like sensors and stoppers.
