Roller Conveyors

A roller conveyor is a material handling system that uses a series of parallel, rotating rollers to transport items like cartons and boxes. These systems can be powered by gravity (on an incline), a motor, or other drives, and are commonly used in warehouses, manufacturing, and logistics for efficiently moving heavy or rigid loads. 

How it works

  • Structure: A frame holds a series of rollers in a line.
  • Movement:
    • Gravity-fed: Items are placed on an inclined conveyor and move to their destination due to gravity, or are pushed manually.
    • Powered: A motor drives the rollers, often through a chain or belt that connects them. The rollers then spin to push the items forward.
  • Transport: Goods placed on top of the rollers slide or roll along the system to reach their destination.
