Manual Box Stretch Wrapping

Manual box stretch wrapping is a method for securing items like boxes or pallets with stretch film using manual, often handheld or simple mechanical, devices. This process protects goods from damage, dust, and moisture, and unitizes them for easier handling during storage and transport. It's a cost-effective solution for small-scale or low-volume packaging operations where automation isn't necessary.

How it works

  • Anchor the film: The operator attaches the edge of the stretch film to a corner of the box.
  • Wrap the load: The operator then manually moves the film around the load, either by walking around the pallet or by turning a base, to cover the entire surface.
  • Adjust tension: The operator maintains a consistent and tight wrap by adjusting the film's tension as needed.
  • Apply multiple layers: For extra security, the operator wraps the film upwards to the top of the load and then back down to double-seal it.
  • Cut and secure: Once completed, the operator cuts the film and presses the end to the wrapped load to secure it.

Key features and benefits

  • Manual operation: Requires no complex automation, relying on operator control for film application.
  • Portability: Many devices are lightweight and compact, allowing for easy movement where needed.
  • Protection: Creates a protective layer against dust, moisture, and other contaminants.
  • Stability: Keeps boxes and products together, preventing them from shifting during transport and storage.
  • Cost-effective: A budget-friendly solution for small businesses or those with low-volume needs.
  • Flexibility: Allows for customized tension and wrapping based on the specific load.
